Which gallery software should i install onto FNK?

I'm not a big fan of the old gallery. Gallery comments are no longer important in my opinion. The features i would like are:

- Tagging
- Flickr/Facebook style meta databoxes in images.
- Easy & Fast to navigate
- Easy to upload a massive quantity of images (integration with software like picasa would be nice)
- Open Source or under $300 (prefer open source due to licence)

are there any software projects which support these features? None come to mind off the bat. I'm curious what you guys would like to see in the new FNK.

All of them at the same time, they will battle for supremecy.

My prediction for the outcome is that you are a douche.

checking out this one.

Pros:
- Tagging
- Open Source
- Simple & Easy
- Looks nice
- XHTML/CSS

Cons:
- I'll have to rewrite the tagging and make it more powerful
- I'll probably have to write an uploader
- I'll probably have to write a lot of features into this
- That takes time
- I'm lazy

Have you checked out the photo gallery software I run on my website? I use Coppermine Photo Gallery on rustybob.ca. It meets most of your requirements, although I'm not entirely sure about the metadata part. It may or may not, and if it doesn't, Coppermine has tons of "hacks" out there that add features.

All you need is Apache, PHP, MySQL, and the latest versions of PHP should have GD in as an extension already.

It is free and open source. The reason I chose this for my website was the fact that it does have an easy upload system. There is a web upload, but you can only do 10 pics at a time. You can FTP, which is quick. The way that I use, however, is the "Publish to Web" feature in Windows XP. Click that on the folder you're in, choose the pics you want, and it does the rest.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was looking at coppermine as it does integrate with vbul. I think we might actually run with it. I'm still hunting around.
