pour the concrete..... use a level to even out the coment so its as evently flat as it can be. Probably wanna use 2x6 boards along the joining of the walls and floor all the way around

it gives a nice industrial look to spaces, but I'm still hesitant to have it in my living area.

i had a friend that took red and yellow concrete stain and did his floors unevenly with them, then threw some salt all over it to see what would happen and they ended up being gorgeous. thats about all i know.

I helped put in a buddies patio and it wasn't all that hard. there was 4 of us and it took most of a day start to finish (framing, pouring, finishing).

You're going to need one person though who has the tools (drivers will not supply) and is willing to help you finish it though. I happen to know that Matty Cue does concrete work...

Never done it, myself, but I know about the concept of acid-staining.

You can create different hues of stain into the concrete using different solutions.
With some creative tape-work, you could design some pretty intricate detail into your floor.

Just keep in mind that when you put your clear-coat finish over top of it (and you WILL want to do this, to keep dust down), the colours will darken.

Have fun!

Frosty

definately get some who's done it before to finish it for you. The pouring's easy, but if working with concrete finishers has taught me anything, it's that the concrete is as touchy as the finishers themselves. really easy to screw up....
