technology could go as far as the zipper on your pants though.
but a more logical answer: I'm really reliant on technology for almost everything.. When I lost my internet connection for a few months, there was a lot less time wasted on the computer, but I still used it a lot for projects. If I lost my phone and internet, feeling disconnected from everything, I'd probably fill it with another piece of technology... car. I've really been trying to simplify my life and get rid of distractions as of late. It's a good question. I've often wondered how the world would react if there was a permanent blackout. |

I could go as long as i needed in the right frame of mind but i haven't gone longer then probably a week.
Marshall McLuhan and Harold Innis are Canada's most famous techological determinists and have some interesting things to say. |

I could do it for as long as I'd need to and I love doing it from time to time. I don't mind being away from those things, especially being without a cellphone. I think that it's okay to do it because you know it's temporary, you know you couldn't live long without the comforts of technology...like who would want to live without their music for long? not me.
On the other hand, being one with nature isn't something I'm huge on, I hate camping because of the lack of a comfortable bed and good showers. |
