Car Junk Yards

Doesn't seem to be any other appropriate for for this, so....

I just finished fixing up a '91 Sunbird. Got it for free, and only put about $400 into it, and she's running pretty damn good. Here's the thing though: the catalytic converter on it is basically toast. Any time a cat converter has lots of rattling going on inside of it, yeah, it's toast. As such, when AirCare is due to be done on it (which is in about a week), chances are it's going to fail. A used cat converter is just fine for me, and I can get 'er installed for pretty cheap. However, I don't know of any good/cheap (cheap is better, but someone who won't sell me crap, as this is a part that has to be welded in, would be best) auto wreckers in the Vancouver area. If there's someone you've bought from before, who might have Sunbird parts, let me know.

Thanks for the help.

Take a drive down Scott rd right around 104th, theres about a half dozen wreckers within a 2km vicinity. If lovely Surrey isn't your bag, try Mitchell island just off the Shite street bridge

I wouldn't tell them you need it for Aircare because wreckers are shiesty and will try to rip you off; you shouldn't have to pay any more than 100$, even that is ridiculous. Also, you might want to consider buying a universal one and just having it welded up because chances are a used one thats 15 years old could be hooped

Best Advice.

Or if you're out in the Fraser Valley there's a couple Wreckers just West of Abby on the #1.

Werd goto Mitchell Island. I went there to get a power steering pump for my Teg. Sure beat paying an arm and a leg for the new one and the dealership to put it in. BUT REMEMBER... don't ask for the price of the part. Make an offer to them otherwise they will rip you off.

Mitchell Island sounds like the place to go for me, since it won't be that far of a drive from my house. In fact, I could probably stop by there on the way home when I pick up the car.

Thanks for all the help.
