I forsee it to be savage....and very much an epicworthy scape of inspirational SICKNESS.

And the fact that my fella with or without an umbrella (hopefully the weather shall hold) shall be a lingering....i am packing as i type...contemplating....well attempting to focus.....guitar?...
...........and my longboard?...and my didge?
ugh, never enough room for the worlds.
SO EXCITED.
Anyone who is familiar with the area feel free to reccommend any little cafe's or coffee shops ...or...where one might follow the music.

i'm staying here when i go. going with a lot of people, so it wont be too expensive. i'm not sure if i want to surf yet because i hate the cold. my friend and i want to take the seaplane to the hotsprings.

I'm going camping in Tofino for a week in August. Was considering taking a couple surf lessons.
Hoping the cold water should be tolerable at that time of year.

Any suggestions/tips for someone that has never been there before?

Yeah...many people are telling me I will freeze to death.
But im hoping the Wetsuit helps me out atleast.
That Cedar Vista House looks wicked!! Apparently im staying at the Long Beach Lodge Resort....

surf sisters!
my friend and i did it last year - class size was teeny tiny and all the instructors are awesome.
and if you stay at the hostel there - wikininish or something - you get discounts on your surf lessons and on staying. take the tofino bus if youre not driving.
we went in august and it wasnt chilly at all.

im waaaaay past jealous. the best place ive stayed there was the tin wis best western on mackenzie beach. that place looks spectacular.

Cool, I was checking out that camp. I would like to do a couple days, it just depends on my cash flow around that time of year.
I won't be staying at any hotels though. I've booked a camping site at the Bella Pacifica campground, and I think I'll be driving my dads suburban up so I can just throw a mattress down in the back. :)

i would still look into the discount thing. the hostel is alot of fun, and reasonably priced for the comfort you receive. we ended up in a semi private room - 4 beds - with a gigantic bathroom that was shared with another room of 4. we could have gone cheaper but opted for the bathroom situation.
surf sisters might have something set up with the campsite too. i was surprised that they did with the hostel.
their lessons are roughly the same price as any other lessons there - give or take a few dollars - and they're rentals are pretty cheap. plus its easy to continue using gear from your lesson and rent them right after.
