Contagiousness
The viruses and bacteria that cause pneumonia are contagious and are usually found in fluid from the mouth or nose of an infected person. Illness can spread when an infected person coughs or sneezes on a person, by sharing drinking glasses and eating utensils, and when a person touches the used tissues or handkerchiefs of an infected person. my mom is just getting over walking pnemonia - she had it for awhile without fully knowing. she was pretty sick, but thought it was just a really bad cold. i didnt get it, and my dad who supposedly has a severly weakened immune system from cancer treatments didnt catch it at all and they sleep in the same bed\shared ice cream spoons and drinks.
the doctors figured that if dad hadnt caught it by the time she was diagnosed that he wouldnt get it. but after a few days on antibiotics she wasnt contagious\was allowed to sleep in the same bed as him again. |

I think Pneumonia is caused by the bacteria/viruses that can stick around after you get a cough/cold/flu, etc. and over time can develop into Pneumonia. What causes the sickness comes from things that are contagious (ie a cold is something you catch from someone else), but Pneumonia itself is not directly contagious.
I had pneumonia twice as a kid and almost died from it, I think it was one of the more extreme cases because I had to be hospitalized for quite some time the last time I had it. I think with most cases you would probably know if it was Pneumonia or just a regular cold/flu |

Pneumonia is not contagious. It's like saying that a scar is not contagious. If you cut your skin and suffer a bacterial infection, the latter is contagious but the resulting scar is not.
Pneumonia follows a bacterial/viral infection. It is the result of excess mucus & fluid in the lungs after being noticeably sick (fever, sweats, etc...). When the lungs cannot efficiently expels this fluid/mucus in a timely manner, the result is pneumonia. Symptoms are tiredness & short of breath more so than sweets or fevers. A doctor will listen to your lungs and maybe even take an ex-ray and will be able to tell that same day if you have pneumonia or not. Pneumonia is a very concerning illness for children and seniors as recovery is much more difficult for their bodies. Adults will recover from pneumonia with adequate rest. Rarely will a healthy young adult require hospitalization for the treatment of pneumonia unless there are complications like allergies to meds or asthma. A doctor might or might not tell you this ---> Don't eat any dairy products during the recovery of pneumonia and your lungs will bounce back much faster. Stay away from cheeses, milk, yogurt, mayo, tzatziki, lattes, ... |

i have a lingering code, caused by a lowered immune system due to eating treated hamburger.
most hamburger is treated with a substance that keeps the meat red. it appears that i may be allergic to the heat-treated version of that substance (fried on the stove but not consumed except by me). my GF claims I am paranoid. however, this 'cold' aint going away. It's given me congealed phlegm buildup, a sinus migraine, dizziness, and other side effects. then about a week later, my GF showed me the furnace filter, all covered in grey dust and probably, fungus spores. i am now gonna claim the fungus spores got into the hamburger. *v0 ick! |
