Dear Protesters on Water Street
While you're crying foul about "people dying for 2010 Olympics", blocking traffic and generally being an annoyance I'd like to give you some constructive criticism for future protests:
1. Disrupting traffic for 15 minutes without organizing at least a camera crew first really has no impact other than to give drivers on Water Street something to bitch about later, and to give the cluster of tourists around the stream clock something else to photograph. I'm sure everybody back home will LOVE to hear about your 8 person protest.
2. Everybody knows that what's really important is location, location, location. While you marched against the plight of the impoverished you walked past no fewer than 6 different retails stores with 'Help Wanted' or 'Now Highering' signs. Complaining about how Vancouver is crushing the poor loses a lot of impact when there are quite clearly jobs available for those willing to work.
PS. Paper banner with blue, water soluble paint might not have been the best idea for a rainy day either, but hey, what do I know... I WAS ONLY WORKING.
