I never liked the end pieces, usually because they were stale by the time I got to them... so no, I don't eat the end pieces.

BUT

If you lightly toast them, add a bit of garlic powder to them and crunch em up and you have bread crumbs for when you need them

I don't usually eat the end peices because the bread I eat has a relatively short shelf life (it's not made of regular wheat flour), and must be kept frozen. So since it is already a fairly dry bread, the end pieces get beat up with all the daily in-and-outs of my freezer.

AFAIK the crusts have a ton of nutrients and vitamins that you don't get in the rest of the bread. So I eat the whole slice. Are bread crusts really that disgusting? I don't see what's so bad about them.

SOLUTION!

Cut them up into little cubes, spread them on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with herbs, then toast em in the oven. VOILA! Croutons! They keep for a long time in a sealed container in the cupboard and are awesome in salads and soups.
with the amount of work you do to make croutons you might as well make a loaf of bread yourself.

Believing that the crust is the best part is like believing in the tooth fairy. I dont know how dumb my mom thought I was.

The heel is like a suiside bomber. There only good for protecting the rest of the bread from staleness and mold by being on the end and being the first to be attact. Than I eat the last two slices the day before so I can enjoy my new warm fresh loaf even more.

You've got to be shitting me. Takes literally 3 minutes + 10 in the oven. And they're delicious!
