Jackson-Triggs Sauvignon Blanc if she likes herbal and aroma flavours. You can get it in Sage, Clover, Honey or Elderflower. Very sweet and usually are full flavoured.
If she is more into fruity flavors, go for a Gray Monk Pinot Gris. They're usually in Apple, Pear, Peach and the such and are always a good choice. (My fav!) Or stick with a good Chenin Blac. Maybe look into a good Semillon? Im more of a red wine kinda guy though. |

i was rather acknowledging the fact that i would expect a vintage bottle of wine to be pricey. |

If you want the best place for that kind of wine selection, it is in White Rock by the mall. |

check out a specialty wine store like marques on davie, liberty is everywhere..one on robson, one in granville island, or check out taylor wood wines?... i think thats the name..taylor something...its in yaletown. your best bet to find rare wines is to ask the store what they currently have that is a higher quality/priced wine. Be sure to let them know if the wine is for right away drinking or for aging.
some cheap wines taste great..but expensive wine (for me) 90% taste especially good..its worth the price. good luck!!! tell us what you end up buying!! |

Gewürztraminer
Originally from Germany Gewürztraminer is pronounced "Ga-VERTZ-trah-MEE-ner". It is currently grown in Germany, Alsace France, Spain, Australia, California and, of course, British Columbia. The name itself means ‘spice grape’. It is made to be a medium to sweet white wine to battle the grape’s tendency toward bitterness, but they do make dry versions. Gewürztraminers tend to be fragrant and of great complexity. It shares the same distinct aromatic character of flowery and spicy perfumes as Muscat. This trait separates it from most of the rest of the world's wines and makes it easy to identify. Way to read a wine label in German Wine of this month: Schloss Schönborn Hattenheimer Pfaffenberg Riesling Auslese*** 2004 Schloss Schönborn's Hattenheimer Pfaffenberg Riesling Auslese*** 2004 is simply a marvelous treat. A declassified Beerenauslese, this beauty is filled with oodles of ripe, candied fruit notes in bouquet hinting of dried apricot and pineapple. This liquid treasure coats the palate with layers of sweet, syrupy flavors of peach, tangerine and apricot, all of which are smothered by brilliant levels of ripe acidity. This is no late-harvest behemoth, rather a refined, delicate model of perfection. 2004 at its best. -Rheingau- Hope that helps ;) PS... some wineries down the street from you might carry vintage. |

I'd sugest a Caymus valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1998....it won best wine of the year that year....I'm not a big wine drinker but my boss brought some of this in and gave me a sampler and I would sit and have a glass of this wine with a meal....only real problem is if you can find the wine it's about a $200.00 bottle of wine
