the test is terrible, they scrape your back with a needle in about 30 diff place and drop allergens on the scrapes, then you have to lie there for about 30 mins while your back itches and burns. it sucks, Hope you do alright ;)

Actually, depending on how old you are, and how much you need to be tested for, they seem to prefer to use your inner forearm. And it's not scratches, it's only many, minute pin pricks that are applied quickly. Yes, they get warm, and even warmer and progressively itchier once they drop on the concentrated samples, but the wait time is more like 10 minutes, and they give you cream after that reduces the redness, swelling and itch very quickly.

I'm allergic to many things. I dunno if I feel like listing them all at this point.

My testing was like that. But my wait time was more of like 20-30 minutes, while my arm burned and itched and swelled and felt weird.;) Not very pleasant.

I highly recommend to anyone who has to go through this to bring a book or your ipod to distract you. It feels like a long wait, even if it's under the length of sitting through a sitcom with commercials.

Dust, mold, mildew, cats, dogs, feathers and I get wicked hayfever.

I also think that there's some food allergies I have because certain things (like movie theater and microwave popcorn) make me unable to focus/spacey when I eat them.

My doctor/allergy testor told me to come back every year to test again, because he said that some people grow out of their allergies when they're 20-30. I'm 22, so my allergies still might change/ grow out. Thanks for your suggestion, I'll bring my iPod next time to make the pain seem more distant. Sometimes if I'm totally zoned out listening to music, I forget/don't feel that my arm is broken and hurts like hell, or that I just busted my toe, or something like that. Music has that effect. :cheesy:
