Utah!
utah is crazy.
it's beautiful with the painted desert and lush valleys but the people there are just a bit off. there's a lot of mormons there. the painted desert is amazing. i want to go spend some time there. i love idaho. not the state. but the people are pretty damn great. of all the states i've traveled through (not many really) utah was the most diverse in it's landscape. there's desert, then high desert or painted desert, grass plains with mesas and mountains that still had snow caps on them.
really a beautiful drive.

just driving through you knew you were in religious territory.
there were crosses painted on some of the bigger boulders and set up in the hills. above boise there's a huge neon cross on the hill. ironicly it's the drinking place for the local kids.

the one thing about boise that i thought was shitty was the cops.
almost all the people i met were on probation for stupid shit like sound violation tickets or had DUIs that were aquired on dirt roads in the country while they were driving from one farm to another like 1 mile down the road. AND. they operated on a tip while i was there. they came and searched my friends apartment and their neighbours because someone called the cops and said there was a meth lab and other drug activities going on while there was a 4yr old child in the house. first there was no child. second there was no drugs. just a crap load of pipes and bongs, all of which were confiscated. one of the cops even broke the snow man bong by accident and spilled bong water all over himself and keith. shitty.
