Possible Floods?!

There have been reports of flood warnings that may happen over the next few weeks in the Fraser Valley and low levels of Coquitlam - in some cases they are saying that the roads may be washed out...
The news has been saying that the situation is very serious and further warnings will be issued.

Areas that would be affected are listed below:

Surrey
Langley
Port Coquitlam
Coquitlam
Pitt Meadows
Abbotsford
Agassiz

This is a map of the area - the grey areas are the areas that would be affected with a disclaimer about Richmond - they are not that concerned due the the dykes that they already have in place.

SCARY STUFF PEOPLE.

^From what I understand the fear has nothing to due with rain... it's the snow melt from the mountains and all the tributaries that feed the Fraser River.

In regards to the map all it does is show us general flood plain areas... it doesn't specify anywhere that all/any of these areas are in any danger at the present time.

I have a friend that lives on Hasek? Lake in Mission and they were told to clear out their whole house. They had to move their horses,dogs,furniture..it sucks.

I also heard that if the flooding affects the airport, they are going to blow out the dykes and flood the other areas instead..just a rumour so far.

Takeahnase

When it begins - Takeahnase - the floods will sever the
christs from the earth. Thieves called it property -
Takeahnase - you'll drown for our mother's disgrace.

We tried to tell you, now let us show you. You'll know
the way. Like spiny fingers you'll separate. You'll
know the way. Takeahnase.

Cold, distorted air - Takeahnase - the blood must flow
to pay for your hour. This human garbage - Takeahnase
- You'll drown for our mother's disgrace.

dump trucks and loaders are in full force on the vedder dike adding some more rocks and shit to it to raise it up. Telus has been going around chilliwack sandbagging some of the telecommunication boxes around town. They even have capped the toilet in one of there switchboard offices. So any employee has to go across the street to some restaurant to use the bathroom. Worst case scenario downtown chilliwack will be flooded so they say...
And ya the property where apex and sb is held may get flooded by the looks of it but who knows.... Maybe in the end it was a big panic for nothing, regardless you can't fuck with mother nature thats for sure

Basically we've been having the best possible weather for it of late. No rapid warming, and virtually zero added precipitation.

Wish that shit would just hurry up and melt, the anticipation is killing me.

This isn't something to scoff at if you could be affected. So what. This may not be like a tornado or earthquake but it will still ruin major property and affect lives. Drinking water for that area is going to be more difficult to attain. And Vancouver will be flooded with surrey-ites and coquitlam-ites. We all get affected.

Dear lower mainland, your friendly local media here. Just a nice, gentle reminder that OMFG FLOODS! STORMS! KATRINA! DEVASTATION! DISASTER! SWEET BABY FUCKING JEEEEEEEESUS!!!!!

Alternatively you could remember that the CFB engineers really love to play around with putting together plans for these kinds of situations. Or that there have been snowpacks far bigger in the past, and they were much of a bother. Hell, how big IS this current snow pack? Well they're
at their highest since 1999. Everybody remember that huge flood back in 1999? Yeah, me too. I bet every single drainage pipe was left exactly the same since then too.
