digital camera question

okay, so i want to get a new digital camera. i have a canon, and it has served me well.

i've just been looking online and so far everything that looks good has built-in batteries. the only reason i'm weary of those is because when i go camping/shambhala-ing then if the battery runs out i can't take any more photos...but all the good cameras seem to have them built in

thoughts? suggestions? nude photos?

the thing with built in batteries is they slowly lose there capacity or if they die altogether you have to send away for a new one. but i dont know much about this stuff

well, i think there are batteries now that don't have that memory problem where if you charge it while it's only half empty then you lose half your battery.

i dunno how much they fixed the problem though.

You looking at SLRs or handheld cameras? If it's SLR, yeah, most have proprietary batteries. They are replaceable though.

If it's handheld, again, lots of them aren't necesarily built-in batteries, but they are proprietary. I'm guess that since you're seeing so many built-in/proprietary batteries, you're probably looking at something pretty small. For small cameras, it's inevitable that you'll need built-in or proprietary.

If you're sticking with Canon, there's tons of their newer models that still take AAs.
