i got a sweet new job.
i've moved to boise idaho.
i decided to take a summer off the track so i made a couple cold calls on my second day here and landed possibly the sweetest job ever the start pay isn't too hot but it'll get better. basically i ride all day. but instead of at the track i get to ride some pretty nice show horses. i'm like a hired trainer to work for a big cowboy trainer here who doesn't have time to get on all his horses. today i got to ride a pretty fucking nice warmblood that i'm teaching tempi changes. and i get on several green but REALLY nice quarter horses. after i'm done my arena schooling on each one i can take them into the hills around the ranch and tire them out. the ranch is in emmit idaho. lucky me......... ps the place is called spencer training. i dont know if they have a web site but i'm guessing they do since i'm on the computer at the barn right now. my boss' name is jeff spencer. he's pretty cool. |

i'm doing a sales video tomorrow of me jumping a thoroughbred named phoenix. i took him over a little vertical jump today, it was the first time i've pointed a horse at a fence, with the intention of going over it, in 4 years.
i'm sure they'll post that on their site, if they have one. i'll let you know erik. call me later tonight if you can. |

my job is rad.
i had some close wrecks during that jumping video, and they caught it all on film. i'll see if i can get them to email me the unedited tape. a new girl yesterday got all fucked up though. a horse fell on her then stepped on her head. she's still in the hospital but got lucky and just needs some reconstructive surgery on her ear. they called medivac for her, i was freaked out. |
