Question 4 Emily Carr peeps re courses

Wondering if students get to evaluate instructors at the end of a course? Such as by filling in a form.

How do the deans and people in charge know whether or not an instructor and the course is any good? It looks like after an instructor is hired they do whatever they want and nobody but the students sees what goes on in a class.

There is such a thing as getting what you paid for. Don't know about Carr but I'm glad UBC has this for most courses [University requirement I think] - generally there aren't any problems but maybe it keeps instructors on their toes.

Heard Douglas doesn't have this for every course, so YMMV.

As for comments, people generally bitch about how hard the course was or don't comment at all. Rarely have I heard of anyone up in arms about congratulating the prof.

there's a report form that gets filled for EVERY class at the end of the semester.. ive filled out almost 45 of those forms now.. they're dreadful. if you really care dont post this on fnk..go to the dean at EC and get your tattletail on.

all the teachers at ec are practicing artists/designers, so MOST (not all) students usually check the credibility of the teachers before they take the course. most ppl want to be paying their money to a good education.

If it turned out to be a slacker course why take it? Wouldn't the option of removing yourself and taking something more challenging be optimal? If you though it challenging during and you teacher said something like this close to the end semester then perhaps its a gag? If I figured it a breezy course I would have left !! Well ok maybe not me.

go to school and learn english b/c no one can understand wtf you're trying to say.
