David Copperfield
I took my mom to this show and all I can say is this guy is amazing.
I watched his specials on TV and I am quite the skeptic, but when you see the big illusions he pulls off in front of your eyes it is hard not to believe. My mom loved it and that all that mattered to me. Of the show the tricks I'll remember forever: 1) He has a ring of people around the stage so he can't sneak anything in, has people below the platform so nothing can be lifted in. He creates a fabric shroud and makes a full automobile appear out of nowhere. 2) He goes onto a paltform and 'compresses' himself to less than 1 foot in length. 3) His main trick is that he and a audience member go to the end of a platform that is pushed out into the crowd, then he makes himself and the person disappear and reappear somehwere else in the world in real time. 4) His finale... he gets 13 random people from the audience to sit on a raised platform, covers it, hands them all flashlights to shine from within and makes them all disappear, then reappear in the balcony. |

Also in the lottery trick, did the first guy wear green boxers and was asian? The only numbers I remember were from the lady picked last, she chose 2 and 10 and her birthday was November 13th. If none of this information is repeated I would be truly amazed. |

Alot of these guys just practice LOTS before even doing a street show. Unlike alot of magicians, David Copperfield can afford all the toys that help make the illusion all fit together. Keep in mind he is the 7th highest paid entertainer in the world. As for the show tho: -the guy was "transported" to a beach on Thailand for my show -the BL was kept but the little boys name was something else (he used a different volunteer from the audience's intials) -the guys boxers were grey -and the woman in the audience that was chosen for the lottery part had her birthday aswell That's the thing tho...all of this kinda stuff is mostly staged (as this post has proven) but what I dont get is how he was able to randomly choose people by throwing the frisbee and yet still make sure that the right people caught it. |
