when cooking shrimp i tend to kabab it. I'll add cherry tomatos, zuccini chunks and mushrooms. The key to good shrimp though is to not overcook it, so makes sure the other stuff you put on the kabab are around the same size for even cooking times.

-a piece of salmon
-lemon -salt and pepper and other spices you enjoy -tin foil season the salmon with a bit of lemon juice and cover with your favourite spices. toss a slice of lemon ontop. a few spoons of white wine. Wrap the entire package around with tin foil and drop onto the grill. Enjoy. :D BBQ Chicken -beer ( I prefer dark beers, gives a more woodsy taste) -pepper -chicken wings or drum sticks -salt and pepper Chicken can be a pain to cook cuz they can burn quickly cuz of all the fat. I suggest you microwave your chicken a few minutes b4 tossing on the grill. This prevents over burning. Toss all ingrediants into a bowl and mix. Overnight is preferred, but works if our short on time. Simple and great for the camp site. Roast Bannana -Toss a Banana on the gril. Gril then open up and eat the inside. Mmmm. -T!m PS - If your making kabobs, make sure u soak the sticks in water b4 u skew them so it prevents burning. |

advice , commmon sense?? same thing right??
veggie packs are good, i had some last night cut up whatever you want eg, peppers, zuchinnin, mushrooms, onion place it on tinfoil creating a pouch for cooking, sometimes double layering is good to prevent leaks. a small spoon of butter and some finely chopped garlic added to the mix then throw it on the bbq for 20-30 mins, low-med heat. |

Hamburgers
1 pound of ground meat, I like 1/2 pork, 1/2 beef little bit of finely diced red onion minced garlic dijon mustard few dashes of worcestshire sauce bread crumbs (dried of fresh does not matter) salt and pepper egg yolk Mix everything together, form into 4 burgers. Grill the hamburgers for equal times on each side, should take a max of 12 minutes total. Best served with fresh, homemade buns....if you're interested in the recipe I use and love let me know and I will post. |

BBQ Salmon
Create tinfoil pouch. Baste bottom of tinfoil with butter. This works well with a whole salmon, steaks, or filets. 1/2 cup of mayonnaise Several sprigs of fresh dill. (you can use dried dill, but not as good) 2 Lemons Rub(i use a little basting brush, it's pink, if you have a pink one, it makes it taste better) mayo all over the inside(if whole salmon) and the outside of the salmon. Roughly chop dill up and sprinkle all over inside and outside salmon. Thinly slice lemon and places slices inside and outside of fish. Roast on bbq for about 20-30 minutes depending on size of fish at medium heat. |

Beer Steaks!
These are best if they can marinate for at least 4 hours or more. I like to do mine a day in advance. Can/Bottle of beer. Any beer works, but you get better flavors with the darker beers. 1 large clove of minced garlic 1 Healthy Tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce 1 Healthy Tablespoon of HP 1/2 cup of soy sauce Fresh ground pepper Give a good stir. Poke steaks with fork a few times and submerge in marinade. Make sure to flip steaks at least once during process. Grill on barby. |

Grilled Zucchini
3 Zucchinis 1 Lemon 3 Tablespoons parmesan Salt and Pepper Take a few zucchinis and quarter lengthwise. Cut lemon in half and squeeze juice over top quarters. When squeezing, strain through fingers to catch the seeds. Make sure each quarter gets a generous helping of lemon juice. Sprinkle parm over top of each quarter. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Grill skin side down till done. |

Kabobs
I generally just take what I have in the fridge for veggies and thrown them on a stick. My faves are; Red Onion Mushrooms Red, Yellow, Orange Peppers - I never buy green as they aren't as healthy as the other colors. Zucchini Tomatoes I baste the veggies with black bean sauce. I use the pink brush, cause once again, pink makes everything taste better. I grill on a few sides, just so i get the grill marks on the veggies. Grill marks also make everything taste better. |

I tried this one out at a BBQ the other week and it went well.
First i got 1 pound of salmon and de-boned chicken thighs from the butcher. In a bowl i whisked: 1/4 cup of honey 1/4 cup of soy sauce 1 teaspoon of rice vinegar 1 teaspoon of fresh minced ginger 1 garlic clove pinch of ground pepper. I removed the skin from the salmon and sliced into long inch wide strips and skewered them making sure to use as much surface area as possible (very delicate so it can fall apart if you cook it wrong). Place lemon wedges on the skewer too. I then put them in a pan and let marinate in the sauce for 30 minutes. Then you turn your BBQ to medium-medium low and make sure to oil your grill very nicely. Cooked for about 4-6 minutes on each side making sure to keep an eye on it sticking and not to overcook it or it wont be light and flakey. The marinate tastes good on chicken too so the rest of it was used to baste the chicken thighs on the grill. The marinate is subtle but great. Everything cooked just perfect and was tasty. what we have been huge on here at the house is rubs. simple. dead simple. we started getting the premade's from Granville island. just tossing the lamb/pork/chicken in a bowl and coating. rest overnight and next day delish. now were getting into mixing our own spices. the premades are just too pricey for tri-weekly uses.
I believe it starts as good advice prior to becoming common sense. I recently learned this too. "oh my look at my spotty common sense". you bbq bunkster. |
