downsides/upsides to ICQ........
GAH.. sum ppl REALLY don't talk that much.. and it's so awkward sumtimes. EVEN ON ICQ! like if u duwanna talk to me then FINE.. but if ur gonna KEEP talkin to me then maybe it should be a two way effort and you should ATTEMPT to keep the conversation flowing too...
I'm usually interested in talking to anybody... but at times, if I don't know them well I'm stuck on wut to say.. like it usually starts off with the usual.. how r ya?.. and it SUCKS when their answer is simply: ------------------------------- "good... " AND THAT'S ALL like.. WUT!? WHAT AM I SUPPSOSED TO SAY TO THAT? "good? that's good...."... RAHH :( -------------------------------- I'm always on N/A.. but I'm ALWAYS there. the only reason why I go on N/A is to avoid awkward conversation... it acts as a "filter" system to me.. if ppl know me they'd know I'm there.. and if they're actually INTERESTED in talking to me I know they would msg me even though I"m on N/A... (though 5% of the time I am SERIOUSLY n/a.. juss fer ur infos hehe) I use DND when I'm only in the moood for talkin to certain ppl... especially cuz invisible mode doesn't WORK for sum reason *dang* SUM PPL ARE SOOOOOOOOO HARD TO TALK TO and after a while I get annoyed and stop talkin to them but still, they msg... but really talkin about how "ur day went" really gets me nowhere.. And OH OH it's SO awkward when u see them in person (say for example if it's a party kid u barely talk to).. and then ur not so sure whether u should say *HI* or not cuz the last time u talked to them on icq the conversation just DRIFTED... And on icq LOTS of things are always MISUNDERSTOOD... it SUCKS... I once sent a msg to the wrong person and it was HELLA embarassing cuz the msg was like "I LOVE YOU" type of thing and I REALLY meant it but sent it to the WRONG guy.. AHHH.. upsides? well if you don't wanna give sum one ur number then u can always keep touch on icq.. that's all I can think of... but I like person to person communication better.. then u know how ppl really feel.

omg! that is exactlly how it feel! Yeah when i'm on away or n/a , i'm always there , but if i really don't want to talk to that person i won't respond back, hee hee i'm all quite ( like they can hear me anyways ) and i'm like pls go away. I hate when ppl only respond back w/ one word answers ( come on that is weak ) , in the end i just tell them i have to go and i just go on invisable and when i find someone to talk too i just go to them.
yeah and it is way easier to just give someone your icq #
