I TOO WAS ANGRY WITH ANKLE DEEP WATER

ALSO, IN-LAWS WERE COMING OVER TOMORROW AND I DID NOT WANT TO BE SHAMED BY HAVING TO ASK FOR HELP. I AM A MAN AND I FIX MY OWN FUCKING PLUMBING THANK YOU EVERY MUCH

MY DRAIN PLUG DOES NOT PULL OUT, TURNING IT JUST LOCKS IT EITHER TO AND OPEN OR CLOSED POSITION, BUT DOES NOT UNSCREW IT

ATTEMPT 1:

I HAD SOME LEFTOVER DRAINO, BASICALLY USELESS

ATTEMPT 2:

FILLED TUB AND USED A PLUNGER. READ ABOUT IT ONLINE.

(AN ASIDE, THE LAST TIME I TRIED TO FIX A PLUMBING PROBLEM WITH INFO FROM THE INTERNET I ENDED UP WITH HALF A LIVING ROOM FULL OF MUDDY CAT LITTER)

AS IM YELLING AND BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF THE DRAIN, GIRLFRIEND WALKS IN, LAUGHS AT ME STANDING IN THE TUB IN MY UNDERWEAR FURIOUSLY PLUNGING THE (NON-LITERAL) SHIT OUT OF THE TUB. I FEEL ASHAMED AND SWEATY AND MY ARMS WERE INCREDIBLY SORE. IT WAS LIKE BEING A 12 YEAR OLD CATHOLIC BOY WHO JUST WATCHED "MEAN GIRLS".

NEEDLESS TO SAY PLUNGER SUCTION FAILED TO REMOVE ANY SUBSTANTIAL BLOCKAGE MATERIAL.

ATTEMPT 3:

I WAS ABLE TO JIMMY THE STOPPER OUT USING A COMBINATION OF GYRATION, TURNING, CONSTANT UPWARD PRESSURE, SWEARING AND DETERMINATION. I WAS ALSO STILL IN MY UNDERWEAR AND I THINK THAT HELPED. THEN, I CLEANED OUT THE MAJORITY OF THE HAIR WITH MY HANDS, DOING SOME CLEAN UP WORK WITH A BENT COATHANGER.








I ALSO HAD A BACKUP PLAN OF TAKING OFF THE OVERSPILL STOPPER (THE SCREWED IN PANEL ABOVE THE DRAIN USUALLY) AND RUNNING A PLUMBING SNAKE THROUGH THE PIPES. I WOULD NEED A SNAKE THOUGH.

this is a monthly problem in this house.

i not only clean the drains with my bare hands, NAKED. i also use a full bottle of draino a month. it works.

rawb if you need a tutorial, i can refer you to david.

I've been told that draino does work by other gf's of mine with this problem. But you have to use a whole bottle and I dont know how friendly it is to the environment. I personally pull off the capp and stick in an old comb and pull it all out with in 3 tries and flush it strait down the toilet.

How to prevent this problem? Brush/comb your hair and pull out any lose strans before showering. I guarantee you a few extra months before it slowly clogs up again.

Poor you, what a deadly combo of long curly blond hair and really long straight dark hair. I think you should compare hair balls with rawb.

I have a hair trap installed under the grate in my drain. Two screws to take out, lift off the metal grate, empty the plastic hair trap, put everything back. Repeat every 3-4 months.
Then again, I have a stand-up shower so I don't know if this would work in a regular tub.

Dollar store hair catchers..I change mine once or twice a month. Just throw away the old one..in with the new. I have really long thick hair..so I know the ankle deep water shower!!
