The incident began in the 19100 block of Lougheed Highway, in Pitt Meadows, B.C., where a citizen noted the pair vandalising a drug store. The two continued to the Maple Ridge Post Office, which is in the 20800 block of the Lougheed Highway, Maple Ridge, B.C., where they were again observed committing vandalism. Again they escaped before police arrived, but they stopped at a restaurant in the 22300 block of Lougheed Highway, where they were observed doing more vandalism to a building.
Quick thinking witnesses gave police an excellent description of the two suspects, along with a description of the car they were operating in, and police made the arrests a few hours later, when the duo stopped in at a noisy party. Both males have been released, with a date to appear in court.
Vandalism, in particular people who put graffiti on buildings, cost tax payers thousands of dollars each year to clean up. Ridge Meadows R.C.M.P. want to extend a hearty thank-you to the witnesses in this case, and encourage all citizens to get involved. If you see anyone around a building acting suspicious, please call police. Note physical, and clothing descriptions, and if a vehicle is associated, including the licence plate. This way we can put a stop to this type of crime.
