Sure the PDX-2000 may have a higher torque to it however I am quite certain that over a period of time that torque that it used to have will just fade away. Also the PDX-2000 comprises more of plastic more then anything. The tech's are more metal comprised and is heavier, and its rare that you hear of a technic's deck losing its torque. Besides if your turntable needs to be serviced there are various outlets that would be able to fix your tech's, as per a pdx I think would have to send that to a special service center. Most likely mailing it out of province/country. In my opinion vestax is a great company when it comes down to there mixers but thats about it.

Wow, thats exactly what i was hoping for, thanks mate, as for the plastic, i ran into this earlier,
The plastic design reduces low-level rumble, as low-level bass interferes with the signal creating distortion. The ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is designed to absorb sound; steel is not.
Sounds nice, but i don't want that shit cracking...

Where in Japan? Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Kyoto?
