solid reasons?

Well Technic's has a reputation in the industry for a reason. Its based on how there product is built and manufactured, and the fact that they have been using the same technology for well over 20 years and it still proves itself to be reliable. Sure the PDX-2000 may have a higher torque to it however I am quite certain that over a period of time that torque that it used to have will just fade away. Also the PDX-2000 comprises more of plastic more then anything. The tech's are more metal comprised and is heavier, and its rare that you hear of a technic's deck losing its torque. Besides if your turntable needs to be serviced there are various outlets that would be able to fix your tech's, as per a pdx I think would have to send that to a special service center. Most likely mailing it out of province/country. In my opinion vestax is a great company when it comes down to there mixers but thats about it.

Tech's all the way. Although both decks offer massive torque, accurate pitch control, and comfort. I would go with the 1200 M3d in a minute. I feel comfortable on the 12's, no dicking around; there's no muss, no fuss, no stress when the tech's in the house.
Where in Japan? Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Kyoto?

Wow, thats exactly what i was hoping for, thanks mate, as for the plastic, i ran into this earlier,

The plastic design reduces low-level rumble, as low-level bass interferes with the signal creating distortion. The ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is designed to absorb sound; steel is not.

Sounds nice, but i don't want that shit cracking...

Techs are freaking tanks. You can drop those things down a flight of stairs, more often than not they'll step right back up and work like the day you bought 'em. Plus, all turntable models are different, and if you go with the Vestax, you'll be working off of something completely different than the setup in 99% of the clubs and raves out there. So while that might prove useful in the studio, when trying to play out you're playing with an unfamiliar setup. Having techs in the studio means you'll be ready to deal with any problems you get.

Also a positive is that once you learn how to set up and troubleshoot your own decks, if something goes wrong at a party/club (very often happens - techs have serious grounding problems) you generally have an idea of how to deal with them.
