Nightclub couture crackdown to prevent gang-related violence
Just thought I'd post this article on the board to see what some of the promoters that post here thinks about this.
News1130 - Nightclub couture crackdown to prevent gang-related violence Tuesday, September 25 - 06:40:00 AM Reaon Ford VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Some bars in the downtown core have brought in a new dress code in an effort to curb the gang-related violence that plague Vancouver's night-life. Club owners say it's all about protecting the law abiding portion of their clientele. John Teddy from BarWatch says if you're a pretender, poser or wannabe gangster, you're going to get treated like one. Among the banned brands are Ed Hardy, Affliction and Extreme Couture, all of which use trendy images like skulls, and chains. Some clubbers aren't happy though, telling the Vancouver Sun the rules aren't clearly posted anywhere. Even police say it's dangerous to start judging people by what they choose to wear. |

Here's a good rule of thumb.
If you try to go to a nice club, don't wear a hat, or a pair of old sneakers. Make sure you tip your bartender otherwise your going to be waiting for a long time. Hot girls will be let in before you, deal with it. If you look like something a wanna be yaletown coke dealer threw up, your not going to get in. But that's alright, because ed hardy gear makes you look like an idiot anyways, so you wouldn't want to be seen in public. |

I'm saying that the people who dress like like wanna be gangsters tip the least. That's the exact same statement you said, just replace suit, with wanna be gangsta. |

lool when are they going to go for a complete douchebag sweep of every club downtown and start banning dudes with too much hair product, a dark coloured button up long sleeved dress shirt, and jeans on. haha there would be like no guys in clubs at all after that.

I think it's fucking silly.
I don't believe anyone should be kicked out/not allowed in a club because of a trendy t-shirt. Basically it's another way for bouncers and 'industry' people to try to act better then your average joe just looking for a good time. *shrug* |
