meetings
what the f do you do to stay awake during meetings?
i spend a good 1/2 of my work week in meetings. the minute i step into a meeting room, i get the yawns, which are followed by the nods. besides pumping caffeine into my body i want to know what else i can do so i am not snoozing on the vp's shoulder. |

my best notes come out of my most boring/early morning lectures.
why? In order to get through classes I don't care for, I take excessive notes. Everything on the projector, everything extra the prof says....it gives me something to focus on. If it won't make you look like a tool, take notes of everything that happens at the meeting, volunteer to do the minutes and do an over the top job of them. Focusses you on something other than seeing how much saliva you can collect in your mouth before gagging. Also, that's another option. |

And all this time I thought you actually agreed with me :(
I had a safety meeting on Monday after shotgunning beers with Jono at Diplo/Switch. Bout 3 hours sleep, it's a miracle I was even able to drive to work. I sat through that meeting with the cap of my Canucks hat pulled real low, and didn't say anything. Fortunately, nothing was said to me. (as my response might have been: "BLAAARHRHRHGGGGHHH??!?!?!??") I'm guessing you're dealing with different kinds of meetings, Avana. |

There are certain points in the body that when stimulated increase focus. Some of these are the ear lobes, above the eyebrows and I'm sorry but I forget the others. If you are able to discretely rub these it will help keep you focused. Also allow your body to move (in a non disruptive way), such as foot flicking under the table, give yourself hand massages, etc. Sorry I'm tired, and I can't think of more. I learned about them in a class I took once.
