Nux vs Flyers 7:30pm PPV
 The Philadelphia Flyers don't play the Vancouver Canucks very often. Judging by their success against the Canucks, the Flyers probably wish they were a division rival. Philadelphia visits a city where it has not played in nearly six years and has not lost in almost two decades as it faces Vancouver on Wednesday night in the finale of a season-opening three-game road trip. Because they play in opposite conferences, the Flyers and Canucks haven't met since Dec. 15, 2005. The last three matchups between the teams have taken place in Philadelphia, which hasn't skated in Vancouver since Dec. 31, 2001. The Flyers have dominated the series lately, going 13-3-0 with one tie in the last 17 meetings. They have won five straight at Vancouver, and have recorded eight wins and four ties there since a 5-3 loss on Jan. 17, 1989. After opening their season Thursday with a 3-2 victory over Calgary, the Flyers (1-1-0) gave up third-period goals to former teammates Joni Pitkanen and Geoff Sanderson Saturday in a 5-3 loss to Edmonton. "We ran into some collapses where guys looked like they weren't used to the system or used to each other," Flyers center Daniel Briere said. "As much the forwards as the defensemen. Jeff Carter, Simon Gagne and Briere scored for Philadelphia, which plays its home opener Saturday against the New York Islanders. Philadelphia's top line of Briere, Gagne and Mike Knuble has accounted for five of the team's six goals through two games. Daniel Sedin scored his team's fourth power-play goal of the game with 5 seconds left in overtime to give the Canucks a 4-3 victory Saturday at Calgary. "We gave up a two-goal lead in the third period, that's a bit uncharacteristic of our team, but we stuck with it and we were able to get the win," Vancouver center Brendan Morrison said. Scoring four times on the power play in one game was very good news for Vancouver (1-1-0), which ranked 19th in the league last season in that category. That production was a particularly good sign considering the Canucks are missing Sami Salo, arguably their best offensive defenseman. Salo, who usually plays one of the points on the team's top power-play unit, is out indefinitely with a hairline fracture in his left wrist. Vancouver (1-1-0) will try to open with two wins in its first three games for the fifth consecutive season. Roberto Luongo, second in the NHL last season with 75 starts, will likely be facing the Flyers for the first time with the Canucks. He went 2-5-2 with one tie and a 3.30 goals-against average in 10 starts against them with Florida. This is gonna be the Luongo show...Nux 3-2.
