Removing stubborn stickers from plastic

I just bought a new home appliance for regular use... and on the second day of use - the CAUTION/WARNING sticker started peeling off (due to washing the parts in hot water).

Now there is an extremely sticky glue residue left on the plastic, and it annoys the hell out of me when I accidentally press my fingers on that spot and 'get stuck'. Know what I'm sayin'?

Is there an effective way of removing extremely stubborn sticker leftovers? I tried using the rough surface of a sponge to scrub it off in hot water, used soap, tried all kinds of things - but nothing took the sticky shit off...

there's a product called goo gone, get a bottle of that and you'll never have sticker issues again.

rubbing alcohol works as well.

Goo-Gone IS rad. It got gum out of my shirt, and I just had to use a little spray'n'wash to get the oily residue from the G-G of the shirt and it was good as new. Couldn't believe it!

some of those other ideas sound like they could damage the finish of certain things, like nail polish remover.

goo gone is a life saver.
