An Artist Looking For Work
It's so hard for me to look for a job, and for one that I like and will have an advantage for me into the career that I want to do. I don't want to work at Mc Donalds, what does that have anything to do with being an artist? Maybe It might be my resume, full of volunteer work cause no real place would hire me to work =(, and it is also full of art stuff. Painting Murals, face painting at some carnival, and graphics editor of the yearbook.
I'm such a geek maybe that's why no one's hiring me. and TT you better not tell me that I don't even try the only reason I've given up is be cause I've tried so hard and failed. I don't know what to do, I'm going to be a poor artist with no job - Yungyung |

then BB i guess u just have to take a part time job at mc dicks or white spot....sum place till u find a job that has to do with your feild of work .
even tho Mc dicks has nothing to do with your feild of work, remember it's only part time and at least you will be making some money. why do u think i work at white spot?? i aint gonna work there for the rest of my life, hell no. I'm only working there so that i can make a little extra cash. so i think that you should look for a job (maybe at a restraunt or store sumthing along those lines) and remember its only tempory you can quit whenever you want. just work there until you find the job that you are looking for k *muah* TT out |

even though i'm sure we'd all like to be able to find the perfect job on our first try, that's not really how it works sweetie.
see, you're saying that your resume only has volunteer work on it and i hate to tell ya but working at mcdonalds will add alot to your resume. it shows that you are a team player with money and cash handling skills, and you can perform in a high paced environment. ALL of which are valuable to any employer in any feild. and dragon boi is right, it's a good way to gain work experience and make a little extra cash while you look for that perfect job that you always wanted. in all the shit jobs i've worked, if there's one thing i've learned, it's that you can't be choosey when it comes to this - cuz money is money and work experience is work experience. and it's all valuable in the end. there's also no law that says that you can't keeep looking for a job once you've already got one. why not take the job and keep looking? LOTS of people do that. hell, i'm doing it right now. you can still keep your options open without depriving yourself of all the good things that just having a job will bring you. just think about how diversified it'll make you. take any job you can, who knows maybe you'd advance into some managerial position. any kind of team leader experience ALSO looks fab on a resume....i dunno. i am also the resume queen so if you need a hand icq me posse out Last edited by wundergirl; Jun 20, 01 at 05:32 PM. |
