that sucks man. i just lost over 10 000 songs a little while back when i jumped the gun in installing leopard. lol. and pictures as well. it sucks bad. but starting the collection fresh aint bad though.

most of it was electronic and getting unmixed electronic is a feat in itself

luckily though, im going open up my other hd and start transfering files. Then back everything up on my desktop.
I should've just gotten a macbook.

I'm grabbing an external in afew weeks, tired of using dvds, all my important singles get backed up, its always rough to have it go down, my condolences

I had a 300GB HDD that had 6GB free on it, 90GB of which was not backed up. Loosing that 90GB was painful, but no where near as painful as loosing the hundreds (probably thousands) of hours put into organizing it by genre and fixing every last frickin' ID3 tag.

I feel your pain. I say all those of us who have lost their MP3 collection gather up the backups we have and we'll have one massive CD/DVD rip session to get 'em all back in a collective pool, then we'll each get a copy. BYODVD/CDRW drive & USB HDD.
