Saturday December 15 - MC Hammered's annual Christmas fundraiser/charity drive

Once again I am going to organize a food and gift handout to the homeless that night AND there will be a party afterwards at Bliss!!

So similar to the last event I will be buying the items needed to make sandwiches and then go hand them out. I am also going to be recruiting for clothing donations to make small gift bags filled with socks/scarfs/gloves/whatever to help those less fortunate than us to make it through the winter. I am sure you all know just how damn cold it is right now.

If you are interested in helping me out with this event please let me know and I do ask that you please commit your time if you choose to help. As much as I understand that plans change, budgeting for a group of people to help then having 7-8 bodies not show up really impacts how much can be done.

If you also have any donations of clean, warm clothing (I am especially looking for socks, scarves and gloves!) please PM me and I'll arrange to come pick them up.

If you can help with food items and preperation please let me know as well.

At around 10pm we will head back to Bliss (550 Denman Street) for a great night of house music. In lieu of cover charge all I ask is for 3 cans of food for the Food Bank

I'll have a ton of clothes, jackets and sweaters I'm getting rid of.

That was funny, though!

I've got an exam until 3pm, but after that I'll come down and assist for sure. Might be able to drag the girlfriend down as well, but count at least myself in again this year, Winston.

im in the same boat as jim. i'm moving as well and have a ton of clothing i can donate! i work at commodore that night but if there is anything i can help out with during the day i'd love to do what i can :)

I will probably be working that night (I'm usually off Sat's but I booked off some week days just before that for exams). If they don't book me though, I'd love to help out. So don't count me in, but if I am able to I'll let you know.

To anyone who hasn't done this yet, it's a lot of hard work, but also a LOT of fun. Even a cpl years ago in the pouring rain. You travel in packs so it's safe and you usually get a warm response from the people receiving the food/drinks. Help out if you can! Winston can't pull this off alone.

Sorry for the lack of updates people but I have had to run around confirming the sandwich making stuff.

So the food is all a go and I'll be picking it up Friday afternoon.

Sandwich preparation will be begin at 6pm at Bliss (550 Denman) and

When all the sandwiches are made we will load up a few cars and head out to the Downtown Eastside like we do every year.

If you have clothing donations, socks, mittens, etc please bring them down so we can make gift bags at the same time.

The party afterwards is still in the works and the worst case scenario is DJ MP32CD is going to be playing and everyone can have a place to warm back up and drink.

I hope I see a lot of you come out this Saturday night and if you have any clothing donations you would like to to pick up please post up as I'll be online for most of this week.
