The hand that pokes the Christmas Fire Log

for years i've always thought it was a myth. i've heard that if you watch the log long enough that the video feed will actually loop and you will see a hand come into the screen and poke the fire!

Well this year, as per usual, i spent an hour or two watching the log on TV with a friend and we saw the hand 3 TIMES! With the need of everything in HD have they gone and re-recorded the christmas fire log and added in more fire poking!?

Brainwashing. I swear that's all this channel does. Subliminal messages in the flames and then they show you the hand that feeds you. You can't bite it even if you wanted to because he's got a hot sharp fire poker.

its become tradition to throw on that burning log in the morning while we open presents, makes everything all the more christmasy. And yes, I have seen the hand that pokes the fire--it was amazing the first time, my brother and I flipped out haha.

yeah...4 years ago or so that was THE big thing with my sister and brother...and my pops would just laugh at the absurditiy !sp at the whole thing..

the really creepy thing about this thread was, after reading this i went and turned on the tv and it was on channel 1 the log!!! i dont even watch that channel and i live alone BWHAHAH wtf.. true story

Yah my mom was mentioning it this year, as she had the channel on in the background while cleaning the house. I think there is a copy out there that has more poking. I guess to appease the masses.

Yep they changed the video. In past years the logs were horizontal, with no hand or poking that I can remember... the highlight of that video was 2/3 of the way through when there was a loud crack and the load-bearing log breaks.

In this vid they're stacked more vertically, and there is more poking than at a high school slow dance

im a bit of purist. im all about the orig. log channel on cabel 4. the hand was a pasty white hand with a big,slightly greasy, pinky ring on it al-la ringo starr. i was saddend to not see it this year. same with the 24hr christmas story marathon.

is NOTHING fucking sacred anymore?....world is going to hell in a handbasket.
