whats the weight of your luggage your allowed to bring on a plane?

how many bags can you bring below, and how many carry-on's can u bring?

do the carry-on need to be below a specific weight?

As Rawb mentioned... It's 50lbs for most airlines / destinations. And they are very strict with that.

YEAH I WAS JOKING ABOUT BEING LENIENT.
IF YOU WANT TO SQUEEK BY ON WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS, I WOULD RECOMMEND CHECKING IN VERY VERY EARLY (LIKE 2 HOURS+). OTHERWISE ITS PROBABLY CHEAPER TO SHIP THINGS AHEAD OF YOU OR LEAVE IT AT HOME. I MEAN, WITH 2 CHECKED BAGS AND 1 CARRY ON THATS 120 POUNDS OF STUFF.

UNLESS YOU'RE MOVING YOU SHOULDN'T NEED 120+ POUNDS OF STUFF COMING WITH YOU. o

Yeah be prepared to pay for overages.

You can bring 2 bags, 50 pounds each. If any bag is 1 to 20 pounds over, you will pay $50/bag. An extra bag will run you $125.

If you're only a teeny bit over, try to pick a check-in agent you can flirt with/suck up to.

I hate Air Canada.

That said, I flew them in November. My bags were 52 and 54 lbs and they let it slide. Otherwise I would have just stuffed some jeans and a pair of shoes or two into my carry-on.

Another good idea is to pack a cardboard box so that you can fit more stuff as the box itself weighs almost nothing. Tim did this last week and it worked like a charm!

You may also want to look into shipping some stuff by FedEx/Puro/UPS etc. I don't know how much they charge to ship a 50 lb box across Canada, but I do know that Air Canada charges $125 per extra piece of checked luggage (over the 2 freebies you're allowed).

i think i'm just going to do this.....if i need to take stuff out i'll put it in my carry-on.
