HD help please
I feel kinda stupid cause I know everything HD and this is an extremely easy thing.
My video card at home has DVI, i'm very aware that I need to get a HDMI to DVI connection. I want to play movies on my hdtv, it has hdmi out. My question is the audio, I dont have a home theater setup, my card does not support any audio cables. How the holy hell do I get my audio working with my tv speakers, I dont want them coming out of my pc speakers. They're in seperate rooms and it'll sound like ass. |

Your computer still have a 1/8" jack right? If so, you can get a 1/8" to 2xRCA cable. Since you said you have an HDTV, your TV will have audio in; every HDTV I've seen does.
One thing to check, though, is what kind of audio-in your TV has. Mine has both 2xRCA and a 1/8" input. If yours has 1/8" input, obviously you'd want to get a 1/8" to 1/8" cable. |

i know.
read what i typed. since there is no aduio being dlvd to your hdmi your hooped unless your hdmi input shares a audio input but that wouldnt be likely. trust me, the easiest way for you to acheive what you want is to purchase better computer speakers. from what ive read you will not be able to get audio out from the tv. |

jesus guy, is this marty?
i know what you want to do, ive read the specs, i know your problem. for the love of christ it will not work, ill say again.....you need to upgrade your computer speakers for better sound. there is no way for the tv to get audio the way that its set up now. fuck, read and pay attention lol:P |

DVI = Video Only
HDMI = Audio and/or Video DVI into HDMI adapter = Video Only To get audio over you'll need to run the signal from your PC to your TV. You'll need to buy a 3.5mm to RCA adapter: Plug the headphone jack (3.5mm) into the green port on your computer, and then plug the red and black RCA jacks into the matching female RCA jacks on the back of your TV. Note that the audio will only be stereo only. If you want to run the audio to a home theater system check to see if your PC and your receiver both support coaxial or optical digital audio. |

^why would there be rca's on the hdmi in?
unless you could select hdmi for video and seperately select a different input (composite) for audio within your tv's menus, never seen that though so i dont know if its possible. Last edited by meth0dical; Jan 17, 08 at 06:38 PM. |

the tv's input will only use one at a time...in this case HDMI. i highly doubt that the t.vs input would share with another analog/digital in. unless the hdmi has a dedicated analog aux input but ive never seen that before. |

no matter what,sound will NOT be dlvd to the tv using the dvi->hdmi setup. sound needs to come out of eather a home theater or better sounding computer speakers(how many times can i say this llol:D) |
