I might consider homeschooling them for the first few years to get them into a more aware state of mind rather than let them grow up believing a+b=conformity... though we'll see what happens when I get there. I can't see me taking the wrong turn at Albuquerque anytime soon.

^ i have.
I know some communities even have programs laid out for home schooled children, where they get together with others and do different types of physical activities and field trips. So they get the social skills aswell as the education. That can go either way, I know children who had zero confidence while in school because of bullies and how they were treated, and home school really helped. It can be a great route if the parents have the drive and patience to do so. |

if i have kids i probably wouldn't send them to a private school like i went to. sure, you get nice rounded morals and character going to a catholic all guys school. however, i believe interaction with girls is quintesential growing up. thankfully i grew up around a photo studio whom took photos of a local all girls school ;)
In regard to homeschooling, this is a tough one to generalize. I really think the success of homeschooling comes down to the quality of parenting. |

hmm...all i'm gunna say right now is thank christ he talked her out of it. or else...lmfao...i would've had to kill myself. ;) yesh...my sister's bee eff, (& all of his brothers,) went to/still go to vancouver college, & they all hated it w/ a PASSION. they said it was pretty much the worst experience of their life thus far. (...but i like to think that doesn't really say a whole lot though, 'cause they're all so young, after all. :P) Quote:

I'll probably put "my" kids into the same program I was in, but it doesn't matter if they go to the same schools I went to since THINGS CHANGE. Even after a few years schools have new/different teachers, students, and program options available so it's not like you're sentencing them to exactly what you experienced.

Yeah, VC really fucked up my life. The teachers for the most part were terrible and it never got easier if the teacher didn't like you. My story: I got in an accident and was bed ridden for 3 months due to a severely broken leg. I was told that I would only need to worry about upkeep rather than catching up when i got back to school.
but at the end of the year what I was told went out of window and I got 0's on every test that i missed rather than an ommit. As you can imagine, this REALLY fucked up my GPA. I wasn't allowed to walk across the stage because of this and that was heart breaking for my mom. Thank God I aced my provincials and graudated or VC would have really set me back. too much information, i'm sure. humilating for me... but VC just disgusts me because of all of this. |
