Other big groups will be watching Madonna, Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead to see how their ventures work out. The fact that players like Live Nation are getting in the business tells us that middlemen will continue to play a role in connecting musicians with listeners. It just won't be the same middlemen as before.

You can add Coldplay and The Rolling Stones to that list now too.

The artist is lucky if they see 10% of each album sold.

Go watch another Ghostface video and eat up him telling you that you're killing him by not purchasing his album in CD form.

Digital media is leading for years to come, with 360 deals like the madonna one, artists album revenue is going to be built into every ticket bought for a show.

In turn the artists are going to be able to soundscan for every ticket bought for a show.

You've got no clue at all how the music industry runs.
