For what it's worth, Randy Bachman is a bit of a dick.
He wanted to get the Crofton Pulp Mill shut down because he didn't like the view it gave from his Saltspring summer cottage. He also started doing fundraiser campaigns and concerts in the name of "environment", despite the fact that the Mill had been revamped to meet modern environmental standards and was keeping the entire township of Crofton in employment.
This is a growing concern on the island, I find. Semi-celebs from all over the country moving there and starting to develop it and apply public pressure to make their cabin views look nicer. Or condos they develop in holding or golf courses or whatever.
Same as it ever was.
