Really good sushi on robson???

i have been asked by a middle-aged gentleman to help him find a really good sushi place......but it has to be on robson. this is a date ;)

is there such a thing?

this is perfect. the middle-aged man is my dad lol. its a date. we work in coal harbour and his date lives off robson so this is perrrrrrfect.

nononono..... those are japanese places yes, but for great "sushi" i wouldn't recommend any of those.

out of all the sushi places on robson, tsunami has to be the best. HOWEVER, don't buy off the boats, get a table and order yours freshly made.

*please note: in terms of great sushi places in vancouver, tsunami wouldn't even be on my top 5.

so sorry, it's IZAKAYA at Gyoza King but it's still damn good. NOTHING beats homemade Gyozas. I wouldn't even send my worst enemy to tsunamis :P

Why Robson? Best sushi places in town are just a few blocks away from it...

Kedoya on Davie = most innovative and creative (AND TASTY) rolls that side of false creek
Tanpoppo on Denman = tasty AYCE... their salmon sashimi is like candy

I always thought Guu in Gastown would make an awesome date spot.

Happa is pretty good and a nice date spot. Kadoya is okay but cafe style might not suit a date as much... also sushi bar has better rolls a block away at Bute if you want cafe style. and Guu has was an over priced disappointment last time I was there.

I think it's Kadoya, and SECONDED.

Samurai is a fun atmosphere for a get together with friends, and you get massif portions.

Tanpoppo is pretty decent, best all you can eat downtown for sure.

There are no good sushi places on Robson. Actually downtown in general lacks good sushi places. Most of the places are IZAKAYA and the actual sushi places usually are not that great. Please don't even mention Tsunami, that is one of the worst sushi places in the city let alone downtown.

Yoshi on Denman has pretty decent overall food and they are not an IZAKAYA place. However, for normal jap food it is pricier then normal. However, keep in mind if you were to ever complain about anything regarding the food whether it was cold or what not they won't care. I did last time very very nicely and got brushed off, reading reviews online people have had the same experience.

If you must Hapa on Robson is a decent "date" place but food is avg. Kingyo on denman is really really dope but it's an IZAKAYA place.

Both Robson and Richmond Guu's are not all that great but the Gastown location is pretty solid. Definitely better then the other 3. That location is bigger and you will have a better chance of getting a table quickly and no cramming together when eating.
