(hardstylin, etc. looking in your direction!)

I'm looking for some practical advice on what the best thing to eat POST workout is.

Generally, I have an intense cardiovascular workout JUUUUUST after work, so that means a bit of a protein bar beforehand and lots of h2o.

...afterwards, i am STARVING and my body starts craving things that probably aren't that good for me. I seriously turn into a carb monster.

I've heard it's good to balance a ratio of carbs to protein about 3:1 - does this still apply after an intense cardiovascular workout?

any advice please :) !

Go for multigrain pastas or vegetable curries... Also water or some type of protein shake (I recommend BIO-X Protein). Honestly though, if you're eating a decent sized meal right after you work out it shouldn't matter too much especially after a hard cardio because your metabolism is usually in high gear for at least an hour after the workout...

as a general rule after a solid workout, you ve got about a 45min window of eating, where half of the carbs you eat dont count towards your caloric intake, because they are being used by your body right away to restore glycogen. so you can cheat a lil bit after a good workout without it making a huge diff if you must :)

carbs are junk, theres bascially no need to eat them at all.

i eat around 350grams of protien a day, about 70grams of carbs and around 50grams of fat.


(i just about went into a giant rant about how we dont need carbs ect ect ect but didnt)

if you want me to though i will :) my little theory makes since to me it might change your way of eating.
