I know a lot of people who worked on it, too.
The general comment? "Big!" There was a tentative deal for "Smallville" to buy the brownstone facade/street, but, it seems they dumped their Writers' Strike insurance money into building their _own_ backlot/city street. I also heard that the grips had the biggest green screen ever, in town, flying around that street set at the bottom of Boundary. I've heard that "2012" (Farewell, Atlantis) is $200+ million. I've also heard from a few people that this town is about to go: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! 16 green-lit projects standing by for the SAG contract ratification... Last month I turned down 6 shows because I was already booked for Season stinkin' _8_! Who'da thunk?! Frosty (never rains, it pours...) |

Yeah "Watchmen' was BIG. Sounds like Warner Brothers has a few productions up their sleeves and are keeping the set as is. Once the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) contract dispute is over, roughly about 30 productions are slated for production in Vancouver. First it was the WGA (Writers Guild of America) Strike from November 2007 - February 2008 that killed the industry, now we have the SAG dispute preventing those big projects from breaking ground and leaving us with low budget 'Kirk Shaw Specials' and the odd tv series to work on, but once that SAG dispute is over Vancouver is gonna get BUSY. |

Great story, over the top visuals, sound track and action scenes, what more do you want. Take a hike. |
