I've always been a big fan of the Pan Pacific. Sure their are newer more modern hotels but being inside is like being in luxury. The food in the restaraunts is pretty good to, especially the upsatirs restaraunts. Make sure you get a room with a view of the ocean and Stanley Park.

I've been to like two downtown hotels my entire life. The Renaissance (Marriott) was the nicer of the two.

um i should warn you, please make sure it's on a weekend because the met is next door to a VERY active construction site that gets loud before 8am on weekdays. seriously, i work beside it. annoying. haha
