I co-sign Ashlee's suggestion of superfuture for all your shopping needs.
As far as theater tickets go, if you don't mind taking the chance of getting tickets the day of the show your best bet is TKTS in Times Square, you'll get tickets to shows for 50%, 35% and 25% off. And they do get tickets for Mama Mia! TKTS Discount Booths The Bronx Zoo is open year round, it's one of the most amazing zoos in North America, probably only second to the San Diego Zoo. Bronx Zoo Bring a blanket and go for a carriage ride through Central Park, it's worth doing at least once. You'll definitely want to go to Cielo, like I told you before it's probably the best club in Manhattan, not too big but amazing music and just all around good times. Welcome to Cielo NY If you're looking for some cheap knock off swag you've got to hit up Canal Street Downtown. It's right by China Town. Be prepared to haggle, it can get a little rough sometimes with the vendors. Brasserie Les Halles is a great spot for French food, but it's most notably the old stomping ground for Anthony Bourdain. Bourdain was Executive chef there for a number of years before branching out into the travel and writing world. The man is one of my heroes so it's a personal pleasure. Les Halles Homepage Those are just a few things, but there's so much more to that city that I love. I'll work on a complete list for you =P In the meantime, check out the village voice's best of for last year, it could give you some more ideas. New York - Best Of Best of NYC, 2007 - Village Voice |
