ghost stories
i went to maxine's hideaway today. the boss told me that the place is apparently haunted. they are a sweet spot of paranormal experiences and the vancouver paranormal society declared it as one of the most haunted buildings in city.
Apparently when the place is quiet glasses that sitting in the center of tables get knocked off of the table and smash on the ground. There have even been eye witnesses (apparently)! Or stuff like, their lights pulse to a dim on fixtures that don't have dim switches. well, i was told that the water street cafe building (in gastown) is haunted too. actually, really haunted. now, i used to work up in that building for a year or more a while back.. We did many an all nighter there (before i knew it was 'haunted'). The WSC shared the back staircase that led to the alley with us. They brought out garbage often and sometimes they left the door open for ventillation or carelessness. One night, I was working in the office and i heard someone walking and running upstairs on the 4th floor. So, Grant and I gathered our battery-less flash light (you know, the ones you gotta 'wack off' so it built up enough of a charge to use?) and braved the darkness to kick this hobo, that's upstairs, out. The door to the alley. Not open. We go up the stairs to the 4th floor. Locked. I must have locked it the last time we were up there. The place was pitch black. All of the windows were boarded up and covered in plastic so that it was darker for rave parties and such. The entire place was empty. But we DEFINITELY heard the creaking and impact of several people upstairs walking and running around! No word of a lie, when we found out the place was empty and no one was there.. the hair on the back of my neck stood up. So we're like. ok.. it's old pipes or whatever. This building is one of the ORIGINAL buildings of vancouver! We go downstairs, start working only to hear the same footsteps upstairs about a half hour later. At which point we called it a night. Several years later, we find out the place was and still is haunted. I have MANY stories about that place and it's strangeness. kinda creepy stuff! What about you guys. Any LEGIT paranormal experiences? Last edited by Mr Ektion; Oct 15, 08 at 08:03 PM. |

I know someone who works at the spaghetti factory in Gastown and he said there have been hundreds of ghost experiences there. I'm still skeptical but it seems like everyone that works there has experienced something. Like glasses or chairs being moved, and one guy actually had some glowing silhouette talk to him, and tell him to put a better picture of him at the front of the restaurant or something....he took him to the back of the restaurant and showed him a picture of himself and some other people from the back of the restaurant and said "this is the picture I want you to put up."
And some psychic came into the restaurant and said a bunch of shit that seemed to match a lot of people's stories. |

When I used to work at the lamplighter. We knew the place was haunted, I didnt like going to the bathroom there. Freakin scary shit.
Probably the best "weird" story. We used to drink after work each night, so there could be a hallucination story here. At the lamplighter in the old times, cops used to come in to go check for drug deals going on, the neat thing.. if you've ever been to the lamp, you'd go to the bar and above the bartenders are mirrors, well, they're 2 way mirrors and cops used to sit there and bust people for posession. No one goes up there these days, we've accessed it and in order to get in, you have to crawl.. I certainly dont want to crawl there more than once in my life. Anyways, so we were sitting near the entrance, smoking cigarettes and drinking booze. all of a sudden, I notice that one of the lights there is on. Now.. the weird thing is.. Those lights are broken. We tried turning them on but they didnt work. So immediately we're shitting our pants. our manager goes to have a look and then the light just goes off, he says he didnt do anything and I totally believe it (What switch turns off the light that didnt turn on in the first place). Needless to say, we finished our beers and got the fuck out of there. I've always heard stories about that place being haunted, one of the ex bartenders there would always tell us stories, even some of the promoters had their fair share of stories. So to finally have one of our own.. totally confirmed it.. That place is fuckin' haunted yo. |

Take a look around youtube. There's actually quite a few videos posted of allegedly real ghosts.
Here's one to start you: YouTube - Running Ghost Frosty (hates mom's house) |

MarkPaul did. Although, it wasn't much of a conversation. He sorta just talked _at_ me the whole time. And, not much about ghosts/hauntings. I'm easy to get hold of. How about an afternoon pint, this weekend? Kingston or Johnny Fox's? Frosty (yes, Kingston _is_ haunted) |
