1 in 13 chance of winning 40,000 and i missed :(
Bad beat jackpot....
this is at the end of my night, and i was up 1800 and had everyones chip stack crushed, so i was able to see a few more flops... someone made it 20 preflop, and i had pocket 2's a bunch of callers, so i'm assuming a lot of them face cards, and a few people in there with pocket pairs... flop is A 2 3 .. some chick pushes in 130... i call immediately.... she flips over Pocket A's.... we both had a set.... the turn is an A ! all i need the next card to be was a 2 and i would have left with 40,000.... needless to say... i was on major tilt after that so i just left... still up 1650 or so though.. but damn... how insane it would have been if i hit that 2 |

i don't see how it was a bad beat at any point. he was clearly out gunned pre flop. and if you're out played/out matched, it's not a bad beat.
i don't understand where the 1:13 comes into play either if he needed the last 2. what's a bad beat jackpot? maybe i need to play in casinos more to understand your crazy new fangled rules. |

^ bad beat jackpot. I think it's if you have anything full house aces full of kings or better and your hand is beaten, bad beat is awarded. Usually the bb pot is 50-80 grand, loser get's half, winner of the hand 25% and the rest of the table splits the rest.

Especially considering it was only 20 bucks pre flop, anyone with pocket A's should have bet it up higher than 20 bucks(especially seeing as how he had said their were several callers)
leaving someone who had 4-5 which they probably would have folded to a 20 dollar bet, or pocket 3's which is unlikely and worth the risk of betting less than 10% of his stack and a possibility of probably trippling his investment. |

Do any of you actually even play cash games on a regular basis? or are you all basing this on what you have learned playing free money on pokerstars.net?
Let me explain it to you... It was 20 bucks preflop, and 5-6 callers... the chick who had pocket aces just called preflop and she was last to act... do you think someone holding pocket aces is not going to re-raise the pot with pocket aces when there is already 110-120 bucks in the pot?? Any way you look at it, i did not make a bad call on the flop.... If you guys would be scared to bet out or call a big bet when you guys flop a set... then maybe you should reconsider playing any live cash games. |

some other crazy shit i saw on the last table...
a straight flush got beaten by a higher straight flush (would have been a beat beat, but you have to use both your cards to make your hand, cant just use one.. and listen to this... guy beside me has around 2000 in chips.... he took someone out who had pocket aces, with 9 10 suited preflop.... i have absolutely no idea how he did it, but he did it... so the guy that lost was on tilt hardcore.. and every time the guy who took him out was in a pot, he would gun for him... a couple hands later, this happens so the guy with 2000 bucks raises the preflop to 30 bucks... the guy that lost with the pocket aces makes it 330.... the guy with 2000 bucks thinks for a long time, and then calls the all in.. he guy that made is 330 shows pocket queens... the guy who MADE the call, shows 9 4 off suit... hahahaha the funny thing is... the guy who made the call is a good player, and knew very well that he had pocket queens - pocket kings - pocket aces... the guy with the queens is happy because he gets a chance to get even with the guy who took all his money last time with 9 10 suited lol.... the flop comes 2 9 4.... and the turn and river dont change anything.. the guy with the queens was on TILLLLTTTTTTTTTTTTT.... free money for all! |
