Obama All Day, Every Day. w00t. w00t.
Decided to make a thread where we can keep all our US political discussions, republican bashing, Obama worshiping in one place. I've had two days to digest the amazing events of November 4th...
He's already making good on his transparency promises. Check out his new website. Change.gov I'm really glad that he's decided to keep using the internet as a way to connect with younger voters and get his message out. He seems to know that he has to embrace technology in order to communicate effectively with the people. I'm loving it. I'm also loving his chief of staff pick. He's like the enforcer of the democratic party, which will go very well with Obama's "nice guy" demeanor. Good cop, bad cop. Check out his wiki page. Rahm Emanuel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Love this guy already. And if the republicans are already complaining about this guy, you know he's made a good choice. Huffpost article: Rahm Emanuel: Obama's Chief Of Staff |

gloating and an US vs THEM mentality are things that democrats hate about republicans, why do you want to perpetuate something that obv splits people apart? while fun to read, huffington is just the mirror image of drudge report. it is often sensational with its commentary and its "stories" are just that, editorials. quoting huffington makes you just as bad as Alex and Vitamin-X and other hardcore right-wingers. |

I'm well aware of the slant. I didn't quote it. I gave a link. If people want more links, they can follow the wiki page I linked them to. I read a lot of websites. I posted the huffinton post link to this story because it actually presented both sides of the argument for this chief of staff pick. And if you read the reader comments, a lot of other links are provided, both in favour and against, to support arguments. What issue did you have with my post? The fact that I offered my opinion about Obama's pick? I though I made it clear that this thread was about discussion...I don't have anyone else's opinion to offer but my own. |

I hope this post is unbiased enough for rawb.

neither 1 nor 2 answers my question.

my opinion, which i have stated, is that that validating an action because it pisses off someone who is in another political party is not proactive and is ultimately divisive. it works against what is trying to be achieved by the obama government. |

oddly enough, in the purest sense of their definitions, i'd identify with republicans way before identifying with democrats. |

Did any west wing or entourage fans read his wiki?
"and his brother Ari is a talent agent in Los Angeles who inspired Jeremy Piven's character Ari Gold on the HBO series Entourage.[6] Emanuel himself is the inspiration for the character Josh Lyman on The West Wing." |

<3 Huffpost is classified as a blog, which are usually based on....you guessed it, OPINIONS. <3 Did you read the link I posted? Notice that huff sourced politico.com, which often has a right leaning slant, in that post. Ninjaboy, what crazy spins that article was full of. I mean, basically just summarizing the wiki page I linked to. Holy crap. <3 Anyhow, Ninjaboy, get your last subtle jabs in. Wishbone's right. There are plenty of Obama threads on this site already. I'll close this one and ask for it to be deleted to keep the clutter to a minimum. <3 |

First off, I was more commenting on Rawb's post... Second off, Maybe the huffpost shouldn't use the slogan: "The internet's newspaper" if they want to be considered a blog, and thus not held to the same standards as other news websites... And third off, I didn't refer to your article at all, just in general. And denying that the huffpost has a huge left wing bias would be a little out there... Or list on their about us page jobs such as: Editor, Reporters, Associate News Editors, Senior News editor... Giving the clear indication they consider themselves a news source, not a blog.
