Barbie's Pregnant Pal Pulled
Wal-Mart has pulled the pregnant version of Midge, Barbie's married friend, from stores nationwide after receiving complaints from customers. The pregnant Midge, who sports a wedding wing, comes with crib, cradle, changing table, baby toys, a baby monitor -- and pops out a curled-up baby when her belly, attached by a magnet, is opened.
In a Wal-Mart statement a spokesperson explained that "most girls want to be like Barbie.... Maybe if they would have put them all together as a family, it might be a little different, but alone it sends out the wrong message.' " Discuss.

last time i saw kenny he was down on his luck. him and barbie had just gotten into some big argument, and she went out with some of her "girlfriends". ken got so pissed he passed out in an alley, and some bum took his shirt and shoes.

ya, Barb was always like that. Plus now she's got her own "skytrain" so she's doing pretty good.
But Ken, I think he was trying to do some porno's but just didn't have the right features. I think it had something to do with him having permanent underware branded onto his body.

I'm sure theres quite a few ppl that were brought up with single parents and theres NOTHING wrong with that.. plus if that barbie is single.. with a child... doesnt that mean it seperates the boy from the men?

please --- k, clearly we shouldn't be discussing the benefits of having one or two parents raising a child. But rather, should Wal-Mart be pulling it from the shelves? Is it a good thing for a child to be playing with a pregnant doll?

I think that walmart in a sence was right to take them off the shelves.
Because little kids do find Barbie as some kind of role modle (the horror) and if they see one that is pregnant they might think it's ok to just go out and get pregnant. They may get the wrong idea out of it, they'll think it's all find and dandy and that everything will turn out ok and happy but the truth is that it doesn't always happen like that. And kids don't realize that, unless of course their parents sit them down and talk to their kids about it but i highly doubt that parents would take the "hard" way out, waiting for the stores to take them off the shelves is the easy way. Besides most parents just really wouldn't like to talk to their 2-8 year old about how one gets pregnant and the consequences that may follow by getting/being pregnant. But then i guess it could teach the kids a thing or two about life... I just think that they should consider all aspects of it before they decide to take them off the shelves or keep them on.
