Unlocking Blackberry 8330 on Telus

I'm finding that Bberry on Telus is very limited. I cant download apps or games OTA (over the air) because my bberry browser is disabled, and am being forced to use the telus wap browser wich wont let me do OTA downloads.

Installed opera mini on my phone, but when i want to download anything it defaults to the telus wap browser and it denies my request.

Facebook app sucks, because the connectivity is inconsistent and will only upload pics and update shit on occasion.

Bberry desktop manager, also sucks and wont let me load .ali files which are supposed to be compatible with berry phones.

Phone is solid and super quick and helps me get work done, but i feel a little ripped off and Telus doesn't really offer any solution. They basically said "That's how it is"... But i've heard that there is a way to unlock my phone so i'm not constricted by Telus' crappy limited bberry service.
