Why is it so full of epic losers?

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not picking on the heroin addicts, homeless or mentally ill, just the huge number of chronically unemployable societal rejects that take up half the city. Seriously, Victoria is made almost entirely of chain-smoking, basement-dwelling, on-the-bus-with-hair-still-wet-cause-I'm-late-to-see-my-probation-officer fucktards.

For example, today's trip downtown featured the following characters:

-Scrawny dude in jean jacket with nicotine-stained moustache (outside the court house)
-Acne-riddled skanky-looking teen mom with (screaming) mixed-race baby, trying get baby to drink a Dr. Pepper (riding the number 30 bus)
-400-pound woman with chin hair and orthopaedic shoes and multiple Kool-Aid-stained children (bus stop outside Mr. Lube)
-Raspy-voiced 40-something woman with bleached, frizzy hair and a leather-fringed “Harley Davidson” jacket (playing “Keno” in the 24-hour Mac’s)

been in chicktoria for a couple months now. no more douche bags than any other city i've lived in. generally the attitudes are a bit more laid back than vancouver which I think is a good thing, feels more small-towny. I'm gonna miss it!

There isn't. Vic is just smaller so it's two blocks away from all the cool hippie hangouts and all the nice bars, so it seems like it's more prominent when it's just that you're that close to the "bad" neighbourhood.

Seriously, everything that you're saying sounds like a typical average day in some of the slummier parts of Vancouver. Try Hastings about pigeon park and eastwards or Whalley, and you'll see just as bad if not worse.

^ lol no shit. I'd like to know where the grass is greener in Vancouver. I honestly thought Kits, but this morning the homeless guy who rummages through cans in the alley way wanted to high-five me for putting a few cases of empties. I've never seen someone so fucking happy. Over cans.
