I've had to deal with this issue at cafe's I've managed in the past, especially on West 4th ave, because in Kits, babies are born in litters. That's actually more disturbing than breast feeding itself. Children are fucking annoying for numerous reasons, but that's another topic.

Honestly though Vancouver businesses should come to a consensus on whether they should adopt a "mamary friendly" policy of some kind or "nipple free zone" to send the message out to moms eager to lactate into their kids mouths. Hey at least EVERYONE going into said business will be fully aware of what to expect when they set foot through that door, thus avoiding such an awkward moment when nipples are exposed in public.

But than again I thought women going topless in Vancouver was a non-issue? I thought it was a recent bylaw... If so then how's nursing so moraly offensive?

Breastfeeding is natural and the best choice for the baby. Mothers that bottle feed thier children arent alientated and they should be especially if they're feeding thier kid formula for any other reason then it being medically dangerous to the child to receive breast milk.

it's so ridiculous this is even an issue in the first place...we were all babies at some point, and a lot of us were breastfed.

Who is honestly bothered by this? They've made a lot of bras and even shirts that are designed so that a woman can discreetly breastfeed? Every single woman I have seen breastfeeding in public is doing it very discretely and it's not like you're getting a full on titty show..most of them even cover up with blankets.
