WelI guess it's official: World Leaders are idiots
Copenhagen climate summit: 1,200 limos, 140 private planes and caviar wedges - Telegraph
Aside from the obvious stuff like petty bickering, who should pay for what, and Canada's official about-face on emmissions, this article floored me! 1400 limos! # of hybrids? 5 MORE private jets than can be accomodated @ the airport, adding MORE emmissions while they go elsewhere to park and wait to pick up their passengers. ~shaking head~ More waste for something that is starting to look like a complete waste of effort, money, and resources Frosty (respect for humans drops another couple of notches) |

Or if it was an actual challenge for countries to implement a tax (more of a challenge then passing the carbon tax was)... |

About half my friends think that the "global warming phenomena," is due to the carbon dioxide created by cars and other CO2 polluters. U.S. Presidential forfeit, candidate Al Gore also is firmly against global warming and claims that polar bears can't swim. Those bears can swim all day if they want.
Then there are the http://wwf.ca/ slogans that ask us all to recycle. Now, the other half, including myself see this as an aggressive way of making the population suffer, through taxes and legislation, until people will be walking down "no smoking," streets like in Asia. If big corporations want to make it easier to recycle or use petrochemicals efficiently, then start using solar & wind power. I think the idea that all buildings could have wind generators or solar generators would be awesome. It would create tons of new jobs and make cities less polluted. From the argument you've put forth where 50% of your friends support the "Bears can totally swim" argument, and the other 50% have put forth the "We're ruled by the super villains from comic books" argument, I've come to the conclusion 100% of your friends are fucking idiots. |

You presume to believe I care whether you give a fuck or not. Your empty premise to disregard my excellent points means nothing to me.
"We're ruled by the super villains from comic books" What does this even mean? "Bears can totally swim" http://scottthong.files.wordpress.co...larbearlie.jpg Yes, I agree. Ever been to the zoo? Last edited by P.A.R.T.Y; Dec 16, 09 at 06:07 PM. |

Anyone who believe's in this whole "Global Warming" bullshit is only getting caught up with what they see on the news plane and simple.. "Global Warming" is an money making oppurtunity. If you have big money to invest then you have big money to get in return.. All this talk about "green house gas's and emissions are causing the planet to get warmer is fuckin hilarious... But again its all about business..
The constant argument I always hear is "the ice on the poles are melting".. My response is "The ice caps on mars is melting to just as rapidly it is on earth".. Astronomers and scientists know what is happening with the sun right now.. We are in a "Solar Cycle". Essentially during a Solar Cycle there is little to none "sun spots" present in a series of years followed by a number of years of increased "sunspots". A sun spot fucks around with the magnetic field which in turn can mess around with our weather patterns. Temperatures on other planets have also been affected as well. There is fuck all anyone can do about it. But again its a great money making machine as long as you know how to sell complete bullshit. On another note here's a great explanation how the late George Carlin saw it. Last edited by b0ld; Dec 16, 09 at 09:34 PM. |

shouldn't your response be some sort of kind of real fact and not a fact you made up?

Bold/Party you're taking anti-globalization WTO arguments and Climate science debates and mixing them up in a confusing mess that are your arguments.
It is interesting to see the discourse in America creating this new populist anti-government movement of people who have their facts backward and their ideologies turned upside down. Somehow the Healthcare debate turns into burning Grandmas; Global Warming became Climate Change. That was not just an update of the word but a creation. A publicly funded focus group helped the Bush Administration reduce the more concerning thoughts that arise from the phrase Global Warming by adjusting rhetoric. How you phrase these things and reverberate them in the political sphere of today is how you change sentiment amongst your audience. It is funny how you also blame the media for pulling the wool over the eyes of anyone with a progressive idea for bettering the planet. Very Sarah Palin'ish. Thinking that everyone who disagrees with you is a passive consumer of knowledge is the first clue. Political experts will give a sense of belonging to a group of people in order to gain your support. You can see it if you compare the statements of many different Republican politicians or you can just see the blatancy of it by watching Glen Beck. They all want you to believe that the debate is over, it's BS, because of science that is funded by deniers. In science you will always find someone with a different opinion. Wherever you get you're rhetoric from makes you feel like you are better then others, while simultaneously wiping your hands of any effort to fix or talk about the problem, all while maintaining the status-quo. 1,000 peer-reviewed articles and data models that take into account the variability of sunspots still suggest that these effects we see are due to Industrial practices. The media, if anything, gives more sway to your side of the debate because anyone with a book tour can get on broadcast news and say whatever they want in an "objective" environment. Instead of discussing ways to move forward and live cleaner, you get stuck in a debate going no where when the evidence has already surmounted on one side. You could be a proponent of intelligent design while you're at it. Ultimately, you have to ask yourself, what are you contributing here? |

oh and if you guys want to get into world conspiracies, you might want to open a global political economy book first. All the examples and info you need are right there except there isn't the smoke filled room you're looking for.

Despite what twiddle-dee and twiddle-dumb have stated we can all agree that NOTHING has been achieved with this bullshit summit. GOOD OR FUCKING EVIL.
Copenhagen climate conference: Ed Miliband warns talks could turn into 'farce' - Telegraph Meanwhile soccermoms and muscle-milk douche-bags continue to salivate over Tiger Wood's whores like its something new. You're with a woman long enough, you're gonna cheat. No surprise there. The only conspiracy I see here is to cloud over real solutions like wind, solar and nuclear fusion technology that is readily available. While these old geezers fly across the world to sit in a conference room with their thumbs up their ass. Nobody wins. |
