I'd rather get something that they figured out on their own. A mix cd. something. Or nothing. Valentines day is just a hallmark day. I show my boy that I love him everyday, not just on valentines day (i'm not saying that I don't participate on vday though, cuz I do).

Last year I got roses, chocolates and a teddy bear dressed up in a ladybug/lovebug costume. I *heart* that teddy bear to bits!

It doesnt matter what u get for the person... its the thought and care that was put into getting it.... Even if u dont get the person anything, valentines day is about being with the ppl u love....

In highschool, it was all about the typical valentine's day junk, roses, teddy bears, and chocolate... I would hope that when people got out of hs and had a mind of their own, they would think of some more 'original' ideas for gift giving (if there was ever any need for it)...

Back when I was in hs, I liked flowers... but like I said, flowers die (they do look nice when they're all dry though) and don't really have any purpose. Chocolate is good... until it's gone. So really, neither gifts are really that useful... but hey, it's the thought that counts or something.

Considering I'm lactose intollerant and am allergic to pollen..
none.. heh. The boy alone is good for me, but flowers are way perdier than chocolates. And you can buy chocolate for yourself whenever, not many people go out and buy themselves a boquet of roses.
My ex brought me a rose that sang "you are my sunshine" once. That was cute. I think thats the ONLY from of flower I've ever recieved from anyone besides my parents at Dance recitals.
So I vote flowers just because i've never gotten a real one :(
