$31.28

I had $2.53 in Canadian money that I found and now my cousin gave me some more of it because she says shes not going to Canada again for another year. Now I have $31.28 Canadian which is more than the amount of American money I have.

I still need to get a temporary job and make some more but at least now I have a little for my travel funds :smoke1:

No, I won't be rich because I don't have that long before I go and I probably wont make too much.

Something that's been driving me crazy is that I've been trying to find out how much travel money you have to show you have to pass through the Canadian border and no one seems to know. I went to the Canadian Consulate here in Seattle and they wouldn't give me a straight answer.

probably 100-200 bucks a day.

if they give you static, just say you don't like travelling with cash on you, slap down your charge card/bank card, and say you'll be using that for most of the trip.

I don't have any credit card but damn - do they really expect you to have 100-200 bucks a day? Especially when you're not paying rent. Anyways, I'm going soon and I think of something to say about that.

i would have to say that i have never been asked how much money i am taking when i cross the boarder. they want to know what kind of goods or belongings that you have with you. ie: luggage. the only reason they really check that is to make sure that you aren't smuggling anything and that you only have enough clothes and stuff to last you the durration of your trip.

i went down to LA twice last year and the only things that they ever asked me were why I needed 2 FULL suitaces if I was only going for a week at a time. what can i say? you never know what you are going to want to wear!

but about the money thing- don't sweat over it. take what you think you will need. I'd say if you are not renting a hotel or anything you should only need about $40-$50 a day.
