End of an Era (RIP Luv A Fair)

I know this likely won't mean much to many of U since a lot of U aren't old enuf to even legally enter into the bars. But I went to 80s nite tonight at Luv A Fair only to learn that they are gone for good as of this Sat nite (well, ok, they are moving, but really it ain't the same).

I can't believe I've just come back from my last 80s nite there...I have so many memories attached to that place. It was actually the first bar I went to in BC back in '94, and a regualr staple of my partying and drinking life until now. Every once in a while tonight a song would come on, and I'd think "Wow, this could be the last time I ever dance to this here...quele domage!".

RIP Luv-A-Fair...thanx for the memories...they shall truly never be replaced!

I observe a moment of silence for a club that has given me many fond memories. Czech's speed garage wednesdays come to mind.

I partied there on my 19th birthday.... 6 and a half long years ago.

80's night and the Brit night were always fun. It's always wierd to see an established club close down.

Many good memories of Luv-a-Fair though..... *sigh*

This city so needs a multi-level super club though...

itll probably be top 40 tho..the granville mall area has been zoned permenant top40 status by the city of vancouver..except of course the world which has been zoned sweaty half naked gay man central

You're confusing granville street with davie street.

Top 40= people from the suburbs .

plaza club, roxy, stone temple(maybe not this one), commodroe all play top 40 & RnB on fridays and saturdays and there all on granville. Since this is vancouver i wouldn't expect any thing else but more of the same from any new clubs that are opening up.
